The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says its deputies along with help from other law enforcement officers arrested 18 men Wednesday for alleged crimes connected to human trafficking.

The arrests, which including a man from Camas, were part of a “proactive mission,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Richard T. Green, a 48-year-old from Camas, was arrested on suspicion of commercial sexual solicitation, possession of methamphetamine and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

The other men who were arrested were largely from Oregon, although one is from Kelso and another hails from Fontana, California, according to the sheriff’s office. The full list of men arrested can be found here.

Washington County deputies got backup during the operation from Portland Police, the Forest Grove and Hillsboro police departments and the county’s district attorney’s office.

“The goal of these ongoing missions is to break a link in the chain of human trafficking by enforcing state and federal laws and developing intelligence on anyone trafficking victims in Washington County,” the sheriff’s office said.
