Letter: Taxes and more taxes

By Robert Kerr, Vancouver
Published: March 10, 2018, 6:00am

An angry hand is typing my response upon reviewing my latest property tax bill — up by 18 percent over the previous year. Do politicians/commissioners/councilors really understand what is going on here? A previous writer was spot on. It seems like all that matters are the homeless people and illegal immigrants who get all the free stuff. Her point was that the liberals are creating the problem.

Hundreds of Clark County residents who have worked all their lives to have a mortgage-free home when they retire are being forced out, and many are now homeless, or are on welfare and food stamps, etc. Get the point? It’s always easy to use other people’s money, is it not? There are more ways to bridge the gap of increased property taxes, but liberals do not have the political guts to go there.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
