Clark baseball sweeps two at Blue Mountain

The Clark College baseball team picked up a doubleheader sweep at Blue Mountain on Saturday in Pendleton, Ore., winning 11-1 and 5-4.

Clark (8-3) was credited with just five hits in the opener. Bryce Roesch was 2 for 4 with a double, and three-run home run in the ninth inning.

The Penguins scored five runs in the fifth on two hits and three errors.

Clark was able to hold off Blue Mountain’s rally in the second game. Clark led 5-2 going into the eighth where the Timberwolves scored twice. The Penguins turned a game-ending double play in the ninth.

Chaz Lopez and Ben Wagner were each 2 for 4 with Lopez driving in a run.

The Penguins are schedule to play a doubleheader at Walla Walla on Sunday. They return home on Tuesday to face Chemeketa at 4 p.m.
