A driver was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after going off Fourth Plain Boulevard in east Vancouver and rolling into an auto wrecking company’s lot Monday night.

The crash was reported around 8:20 p.m., near auto wrecking business All American Classics, 15209 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

Vancouver police Sgt. Pat Johns said a man driving a Jeep Wrangler was heading west on Fourth Plain when, according to witnesses, he went off the roadway.

The Jeep crossed over every lane, then rolled over rolled into the wrecking yard after hitting the ditch beside the roadway.

The driver was hospitalized with critical and life-threatening injuries, Johns said.

Johns said the Jeep didn’t hit the business, but debris from the crash broke windows.

Traffic on Fourth Plain was blocked for a time, and the department’s traffic unit was investigating the crash, he said.
