An 18-year-old Battle Ground driver was arrested Sunday evening on suspicion of vehicular assault and felony hit-and-run driving after a multiple car collision on Highway 14 at the Columbia Shores exit one mile east of downtown Vancouver.

The Washington State Patrol identified the suspect as David A. Fabyanchuk, 18. He was reported to be in custody at the Clark County Jail on Monday morning.

Troopers said he was driving an older yellow BMW coupe too fast when he rear-ended another vehicle at the eastbound offramp, and the force pushed it into another vehicle.

The other drivers were identified as Richard A. Gales, 59, of Vancouver, and Milissa S. Ormiston, 51, of Vancouver.

Gales and a passenger, Emmanuel Gales, 20, were reported injured, as was a passenger in Fabyanchuk’s BMW, Daniel Belash, 19, of Vancouver. All were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries.

The crash was reported at 5:30 p.m.
