Letter: Put garbage in its place

By Kristine A. Sarkkinen, Battle Ground

Everybody likes to drive around and enjoy the fall colors, and nobody likes to see this increase in garbage that’s falling out of pickups or perhaps deliberately thrown out the window by a small percentage of drivers.

Maybe I should join a team of “adopt-a-highway folks.”

There is no lack of public garbage cans — save it for your next gas station stop, please, or use your own cans at home. Pollution and garbage decrease property values and make Washington less beautiful. Please don’t litter and teach the young ones to also put garbage in its place.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
