Letter: Make Election Day a holiday

Isn’t it time that Election Day is declared a federal holiday? While we enjoy the benefits of mailing our votes here in Washington, I see people across the nation standing in long lines to vote. It is unnecessary. Exchange Columbus Day for Voting Day. We don’t need a federal holiday celebrating an explorer who didn’t even “discover” America.
