Washougal — More than 100 parents packed the Jemtegaard Middle School hallways on Oct. 11 for “Bring Your Parent to School Day.” Teachers held classes as usual so parents could observe and participate in a typical school day. Some parents sat in on art class and worked with clay, while others watched the kids conduct science experiments. “In past years parents have admitted how surprised they were to be so exhausted at the end of the day,” Principal David Cooke said in a release from the district. “I think they come away with more appreciation for the rigor of classes and how hard their students are being expected to work.”
