Veterans to be honored at Mt. Valley Grange in Amboy

The North Clark Historical Museum and Mt. Valley Grange No. 79 will host a pie and ice cream social followed by a program celebrating Veterans Day.

The ice cream social will begin at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grange, 40107 N.E. 221st Ave., Amboy. The program will start at 6:45 p.m.

The program speaker is John Nanney, adjutant for American Legion Post No. 168. The organizational speaker will be Bob Alexander of Boy Scouts Troop No. 349.

Entertainment will be provided by the Amboy Middle School band, led by Gary Bong.

All veterans attending will receive a free raffle ticket for a special patriotic quilt made and donated by the Chelatchie Quilters. The evening will conclude with a door prize raffle and pie auction.

Tickets are $3 for adults and $1.50 for children younger than 12, with proceeds going toward the Mt. Valley Grange for operating expenses.
