SWAT officers and police negotiators responded to a home in the Salmon Creek area late Wednesday afternoon after a wanted man barricaded himself inside.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received word that Cody Delaplaine, 29, who was wanted for escape from community custody and drug-related charges, was in a residence at 12715 N.E. 11th Place.

Deputies also had information he was armed with a handgun. He refused to leave the home when law enforcement first arrived, the sheriff’s office said, and SWAT officers and negotiators were called, leading to a visible police presence in the neighborhood.

Officers eventually contacted Delaplaine, and he was arrested without further incident.
