The Clark County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver killed Thursday morning in a single-vehicle crash in Hockinson as 36-year-old Andy W. Kubbe.

Kubbe, a Woodland resident, was driving an older model Ford Ranger pickup when he crashed into a fence and then a tree on private property, the sheriff’s office said in a Friday update.

The crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. in the 18800 block of Northeast 174th Street. Deputies previously reported that the speed limit on the road is 50 mph, but it’s actually 40 mph.

Medics tried to resuscitate Kubbe, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The exact cause of the crash is being investigated by the sheriff’s office’s traffic unit.
