Battle Ground High School went briefly into lockdown Friday morning after a suspicious object was found outside the school.

District spokeswoman Rita Sanders said students were placed under modified lockdown shortly after 10 a.m. after the object was reported.

Investigators with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office’s bomb squad and Battle Ground Police Department responded and determined the object was innocuous. They also searched the school and found nothing else suspicious, Sanders said.

The lockdown was lifted about an hour later, she said.
