State semifinal football is back at McKenzie Stadium with a local flavor in both games next weekend.

For the second time in three years, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association selected McKenzie Stadium, near the campus of Evergreen High School, as a host site for state semifinal football in an all-local doubleheader Saturday, Nov. 24.

The doubleheader features Clark County’s top seeds and undefeated teams. In 4A, Union (12-0) faces Puyallup (11-1) at 1 p.m. followed by the 2A semifinal, Hockinson (11-0) taking on Liberty out of Issaquah (10-2) at 4 p.m.

Mountain View (11-1), the third Clark County team to advance to the semis, hits the road Saturday to face O’Dea (11-1) at 2 p.m. at Skyline High School.

In 2016, the WIAA transitioned to a regional format for westside state semifinal football instead of the Tacoma Dome. That same year, McKenzie Stadium was selected to host a semifinal doubleheader: Camas-Sumner (4A) and La Center-Connell (1A).
