Fishing report, Nov. 22

The Black Friday fishery will kick off Nov. 23. All the participating lakes should be stocked by Wednesday with large fall rainbow trout.

White sturgeon retention is closed from Buoy 10 upstream to the Oregon/Washington Border above McNary Dam, but remains an option for catch-and-release fishing.

Walleye fishing has slowed in the Columbia River.

Late-run coho salmon are still open and available in many coastal streams.

Holdover trout from spring plantings are biting in some local lakes.

Crappie are biting in Silver Lake.

Salmon/Steelhead

Columbia River Mainstem — From the Buoy 10 line upstream to the Highway 395 Bridge at Pasco: Closed to angling for and retention of salmon and steelhead.

Columbia Tributaries –No report. Salmon fishing is just about over for the year.

Sturgeon

Bonneville Pool (Bonneville Dam upstream to The Dalles Dam) — Closed for retention.

No report.

The Dalles Pool (The Dalles Dam upstream to John Day Dam) — Closed for retention.

Weekly checking showed 15 sublegal, four legal and two oversize sturgeon released for one boat (four anglers).

John Day Pool (John Day Dam upstream to McNary Dam) — Closed for retention.

No report.

Walleye

Bonneville Pool — No report.

The Dalles Pool — Weekly checking showed three walleye kept for six boats (eight anglers).

John Day Pool — Weekly checking showed no catch for two boats (five anglers).
