Letter: Republicans don’t live up to ideals

There is no “deep state” or Donald Trump wouldn’t be president.

Republicans are no longer the party of law and order — Trump attacks the justice system.

Republicans are not the fiscally responsible party — they give tax cuts to the wealthy on the backs of our children.

Republicans are not the “pro-life” party — medical privacy is a human right and, when coupled with all the war-mongering, it just doesn’t fly.

Republicans don’t have the moral authority — they’ve supported Saudi Arabia with the Jamal Khashoggi murder, Yemen, children in cages, Trump’s lying, bankruptcies, profiting off presidency, nepotism, womanizing, etc.

Republicans can’t even claim patriotism — “press is the enemy of the people” is anti-democratic and against the First Amendment. Nationalism is the opposite of patriotism.

Republicans don’t get the Second Amendment, either — the National Rifle Association is a lobbying firm, not the Second Amendment.

One last thing, about those people who wear T-shirts saying they’d rather be Russian than a Democrat — I’d like to buy them a suitcase because they’re on the wrong soil.

I am so angry at our Republican representatives and the voters who continue to support this anti-democratic president.
