1. Float your spirits

Set your spirits a-bobbing from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Port of Camas-Washougal, 24 S. A St., Washougal, where you can see a flotilla of light-adorned ships during the Christmas Ships Parade. Watch from Marina Park or enjoy hot cider, cookies and caroling inside the warm port building, with an excellent view of the river. The port will open its doors at 5 p.m. and the parade will float into view at 6 p.m. Best of all, it’s free! 360-835-2196, portcw.com or www.christmasships.org

2. Hello, jolly!

Hello Vancouver! — the always-entertaining live community talk show — brings its free “Holiday Extravaganza” to the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St., at 7 p.m. Dec. 5. The show features Stephen Herndon of the Triple Point Youth LGBTQ+ Program; the Clark County Food & Farms Panel with Amber Baker of Red Truck Farms and Dave Silagy of Silagy Sauce; author and historian Pat Jollota with her new true crime book; music by Lincoln’s Beard; and Maestro Salvator Brotons of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra — plus holiday games and singalongs. $25 VIP packages include a goody bag and prime seating. 360-816-0352 or hellovancouver.us

3. Reindeer games

From 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 2, Main Street in Vancouver’s Uptown Village will be closed between 23rd and 24th streets for the Reindeer Block Party. Browse among local artisans for one-of-a-kind gifts, enjoy live music and holiday crafts with your kids, and have your cameras and cellphones at the ready for adorable pictures with Santa Claus. Last but not least, meet two very famous reindeer, Vixen and Comet — two real reindeer who will be on-site with a handler to answer all your pressing reindeer questions. www.uptownvillage.com

4. God bless us, every one

Journey Theater Arts presents, “Scrooge: The Musical,” a tuneful adaptation of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” featuring everyone’s favorite miser, Ebenezer Scrooge. He is visited on Christmas Eve by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet-To-Come, who lead him on a fantastical journey that transforms his heart from tiny to tremendous. Performances are Nov. 30 through Dec. 9 at Washburn Performing Arts Center, Washougal High School, 1201 39th St., Washougal. Advance tickets are $12, youth and seniors are $10; tickets are $4 more at the door. On Family Day, Dec. 4, all tickets are $10. 360-750-8550 or journeytheater.org

5. What the Dickens?

There’s more than one way to transform a Scrooge. For more Dickens-inspired fun, see “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Production of ‘A Christmas Carol,’ ” a madcap comedy about a fictional Dickens production, as interpreted by a group of budding dramatists whose egos outpace their talents. Shows are Nov. 30 through Dec. 16 at Love Street Playhouse, 126 Loves Ave., Woodland. Tickets are $20 in advance, available at www.lovestreetplayhouse.com, or $22 at the door.
