Battle Ground — Battle Ground city officials published results from the city’s survey asking residents about their ideal vision for the future of the city as part of Battle Ground’s Roadmap project. The city received 2,002 completed surveys, and, overwhelmingly, residents want to see Battle Ground officials pursue the “town and country” option, which would offer a range of in-town services and amenities serving north county, featuring a traditional downtown district with shops and cafes all while maintaining a commitment to Battle Ground’s rural, small-town heritage and history. Of the four options presented, the town and country option received 52 percent of the vote. The next highest was the “family-friendly enclave,” which received 23 percent of the vote. Seventy-nine percent of residents answering the survey said they loved the town and country option, while 14 percent said it was not their vision but they’d support it. Six percent thought that option would be heading in the wrong direction. The survey also showed that residents want Battle Ground to maintain its small-city feel, and are concerned about growth. The city is planning an open house this month to discuss the Roadmap project.
