Angela Hancock was sworn in as the newest Washougal School Board director on Sept. 25, replacing Elaine Pfeifer, who resigned in July after nearly 14 years of service. Hancock will represent District No. 2, which covers areas to the north of Washougal River Road and Skamania County.

Hancock is a mother of two current Washougal students and is a past employee of Gause Elementary School, Cape Horn-Skye Elementary School and Canyon Creek Middle School. She is also a longtime volunteer at Cape Horn and was part of the Vote Yes for Safe Schools Bond team.

“My main priorities as their board director are transparent communications, fair representation, being accessible and continuing to be a vested member of the community,” she said in a news release from the district.
