Firefighters from Clark County Fire District 6 responded to an apartment fire around 10:46 p.m. Friday at the Westwynd Apartments, 10117 N.E. 9th Ave., Vancouver.

Kevin Todd, a battalion chief with Fire District 6, said that he wasn’t working at the time and couldn’t confirm whether anyone was displaced or not, although he noted it was unlikely.

A squad, a three-engine truck and a battalion chief were dispatched to the fire. The longest any unit was on the scene was for about an hour.

Todd said the incident can serve as a good reminder that people need to “clean out their dryer vents and clean out their mesh filters.”
