Letter: Kavanaugh is disrespectful

By Tom Donovan, Vancouver
Published: October 7, 2018, 6:00am

America expects Supreme Court judges to exhibit integrity, composure and impartiality. Those attributes were on display during the Senate Judiciary hearing — unfortunately, not by Judge Brett Kavanaugh, but instead by Christine Blasey Ford.

Kavanaugh’s outbursts, partisanship and lack of respect shown to Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., and others was stunning. Placing Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court for a lifetime appointment will do irreparable harm to the institution and call into question the court’s ability to act in an impartial manner.
