Washougal — Washougal eighth-grader Zoe Hill was one of five Clark County youth awarded a $500 Arts Ambassador Scholarship from Enspire Arts, a nonprofit that supports young artists. Zoe earned the scholarship for visual art. The scholarships are designed for students entering grades six through 12 in the upcoming school year and may be used for private instruction, workshops, and/or summer study. Jemtegaard Middle School band instructor Jennifer Snapp and art teacher Dani Allen wrote her letters of recommendation. Zoe earned the scholarship for a painting she created for Snapp honoring the school’s choir teacher, Jen Mahorney, who died suddenly last spring. The other 2018 winners are Aaron Greene of Union High School for music, Zachary Lipinski of Heritage High School for music, Cassidy Watson of Camas High School for dance and Zayah Shore of Liberty Middle School for music.
