Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council. For information on the following, call 360-735-3690.

Evergreen and Vancouver public schools seek adults to volunteer as a lunch buddy or mentor to a child who needs a positive supportive adult in their life. Volunteers must commit to a weekly schedule through the school year.

Humane Society for Southwest Washington — Retails Thrift Store seeks volunteer help for the holiday season. Stock shelves with holiday items, keep the store looking good, and assist customers during shifts two to three hours long between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Youth 12 and older may work with a parent or guardian.

Kaiser Permanente Northwest Hospice seeks volunteer help at its Salmon Creek and Orchards locations. Hold a hand and be a presence as part of a team providing support to families and patients as they experience terminal illness. Hospice volunteers provide breaks for family caregivers, visit patients in homes or care facilities and help in the office.

Project Yes! The Yarn Engagement Society seeks people who knit or crochet to make winter weather items to be included in holiday bags for homeless people on Christmas Day. For information, email volunteerconnections@hsc-wa.org or call 360-735-3690.
