Vancouver police are looking for a man who robbed a Subway restaurant in east Vancouver on Sunday.

Officers were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. to 13521 S.E. Third Way, just north of the intersection of 136th Avenue and Mill Plain Boulevard.

Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said a short, heavy-set man believed to be in his late 20s entered the sandwich shop and showed a handgun. The man demanded cash from the employee, Kapp said in an email.

She did not say whether the man obtained any money.

The employee was the only person in the shop at the time. The employee was unharmed.

Police used a tracking dog, but a search of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful, Kapp said.
