Letter: Clear choices for Congress

The Columbian does a great service by printing the weekly Washington, D.C., roll call of votes cast by our federal representatives. Roll Call has revealed that Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler voted in favor of tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy (costing our country $631 billion in revenue for other potential purposes), and to protect President Trump by not supporting protections for Robert Mueller. In numerous conversations with constituents, Carolyn Long has made it clear she would vote in exactly the opposite manner. I’m not telling you who to vote for, but the choice is quite clear.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
