This is in response to James Hubbard’s letter about women’s right to abortion (“Kavanaugh hearing is a lose-lose,” Oct. 8, Our Readers’ Views). I used to be totally in favor of abortion. I even took my first wife to have one. Fortunately, her symptoms were caused by something else. We lost her a short time later.
But shortly after abortion became legal, I came home from work to find my daughter crying her eyes out. I asked what was wrong. “It’s my job,” she said. She’d just graduated from nursing school and had been given a job in an abortion clinic. She explained in great detail what her job consisted of. When she did, I realized I’d actually been in favor of human sacrifice all those years. I’d believed all those lies we were told in an effort to make abortion legal.
I think about 99.99 percent of all abortions could be avoided with a little self-control. There is plenty of information out there about when in a woman’s cycle pregnancy will happen. It’s all about self-control.
