Prep Highlights: Ridgefield in hunt at 2A district golf tournament

River’s Lamont trails leader by three shots after first round

Ridgefield has three golfers within six shots of the lead after the first round of the 2A district boys golf tournament Tuesday at Lewis River.

Black Hills’ Tyler Cassell set the pace, shooting a 1-over-par 73 to take a three-shot lead over Isaiah Lamont of Columbia River.

Kale Suomi of Ridgefield third at 78, followed by Kellen and Cade Bringhurst of Ridgefield, both at 79.

The second round will be played Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Stars of the day

• Laynie Erickson, La Center volleyball, had 20 kills, 13 digs a block and six aces in a win over Columbia-White Salmon, surpassing 1,000 career kills in the process.

• Lauren Gehrmann, Union volleyball, had 12 kills, 11 digs, a block and an ace in a 3-1 win over Heritage.

• Alyssa Pfaender, Hockinson girls soccer, had two goals in a 3-0 win over Washougal.

• Yaniesy Rodriguez, Columbia River girls soccer, had two of the Chieftains first three goals in a 6-0 win over R.A. Long.

• Lainne Wilkins, Prairie volleyball, had 21 assists, 4 digs and two aces in a 3-0 win over Fort Vancouver.

• MacKenzie Ellertson, King’s Way girls soccer, scored two goals and assisted on three more in a 10-0 win over Stevenson.

• Allyson Reid, Skyview volleyball, had seven kills, five blocks and three digs in a 3-0 win over Battle Ground.

• Keiana Bonawitz, Mountain View volleyball, had 24 assists, three aces, two digs and a block in a 3-0 win over Evergreen.

• Delaney Nicoll, Ridgefield volleyball, had 14 kills, 10 assists, eight digs and a block in a 3-0 win over Mark Morris.

• Lexi Williams, Columbia River volleyball, had 27 assists, three digs, two aces and a block in a 3-0 win voer R.A. Long.

• Anna Yrjanson, Seton Catholic volleyball, had 10 kills, five digs and four aces in a 3-0 loss to Castle Rock.

• Dana Snider, King’s Way Christian volleyball, had 15 kills, six digs, a block, assist and ace in a 3-0 win over Stevenson.

• Olivia Fothergill, Mountain View girls soccer, had six goals in an 11-0 win over Fort Vancouver.

• Malaika Quigley, Prairie girls soccer, had two goals in a 5-0 win over Hudson’s Bay.

• Annika Farley, Ridgefield girls soccer, had a goal and an assist as the Spudders fell 3-2 to Mark Morris.
