Track and Field

Clark College has hired McKenzie Warren, a national champion and NCAA Division II record holder in the shot put, as its newest track and field coach, head coach Bob Williams said.

Warden graduated from Concordia University in 2017, where she had a decorated track and field career in the throws. She’s an 8-time conference champion over four events and three-time NCAA All-American. In 2015, she won the NCAA Division II title in the discus and also set the Division II record in the indoor shot put in 2017.

Warren spent last season as a volunteer throws coach at Concordia. She started her career at Mt. Hood Community College, earning All-American honors in three events before transferring to Concordia.

Her time at a junior college was a big selling point for Williams.

“She knows what it means to be a community college athlete,” he said, “and move up and have success at the next level.”

Warren is the second coaching hire in as many years for Clark track and field. Marinella Jiganie joined the staff last season, instrumental in athletes’ 16 top-10 all-time times or marks this past spring.
