Letter: Herrera Beutler earns support

I have read in several letters that Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, refuses to have town halls or debates. Odd, because I have attended some of her many town hall/community meetings, and live teleconferences.

People criticize that her phone conferences have screened calls. If true, then why does she also take calls from people who challenge her positions, such as removing sea lions? Every time I have heard her speak, I am more impressed. She listens and is articulate, compassionate, courteous, respectful, thoughtful and well-informed. Living in Clark County, she is in touch. We need more representatives just like Herrera Beutler.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
