Prep highlights: Camas girls soccer routs Skyview, 13-1

The Camas girls soccer team locked up the 4A Greater St. Helens League title Thursday, scoring a season-high in goals in a 13-1 victory over Skyview.

Maddie Kemp scored six goals and dished out two assists, as the Papermakers (12-2 overall, 6-0 league) had a 7-1 halftime lead.

Camas also got goals from Jazzi Paulson (two), Callie Rheaume, Jenna Efraimson, Carla Jooste and Liz Parker.

Goalkeepers Elaina DeMerritt and Isabella Gieszler combined for three saves.

River’s doubles team in final at 2A district

Columbia River’s Nate Kessi and Wilson Keller will play for the 2A district title in doubles after sweeping their opponents Thursday in straight sets to open the tournament.

Kessi and Keller face Mark Morris’ Gabe Slind and Ben Haukaas. Both teams already have qualified for state. The tournament resumes at 11 a.m. Friday at Club Green Meadows.

Stars of the day

• Katie Kogler, Firm Foundation volleyball, posted 15 kills, 13 digs and five blocks in a five-set win over Naselle in a battle of 1B Columbia Valley League leaders.

• Emily Johnson, Washougal volleyball, had 18 assists, 15 digs, 4 serving aces and four kills in a 2A GSHL loss to Columbia River.

• MacKenzie Ellertson, King’s Way girls soccer, scored three goals and assisted five others in a 10-0 shutout of La Center in a battle of top 1A Trico teams.

• Lainne Wilkins, Prairie volleyball, dished out 34 assists and had five digs and two serving aces in a sweep of Hudson’s Bay.

• Tiffany Chandler, La Center volleyball, had 16 kills, 15 digs and two blocks in the Wildcats’ four-set win over King’s Way Christian.

• Anna Yrjanson, Seton Catholic volleyball, had 13 kills, six digs and three blocks in the Cougars’ five-set win over Stevenson for its first victory of the season.

• Emma Villaluz, Camas volleyball, had 23 assists, 11 kills and 7 digs in a five-set win over Skyview to move Camas into a first-place tie in the 4A GSHL.

• Allyson Reid, Skyview volleyball, had a match-best 11 blocks and added five kills in a five-set loss to Camas.
