Dense fog is blanketing the Portland-Vancouver area, and the National Weather Services says it will linger through the mid-morning.

The fog is affecting Vancouver and nearly all of Clark County. A short-term forecast from the weather service notes that fog is present in Battle Ground, Ridgefield, Washougal, Yacolt and Amboy.

“Expect visibility to occasionally dip below a (half-mile),” the forecast says.

Drivers are being cautioned to slow down and to be mindful of pedestrians and bicyclists. People should consider allowing extra time for their morning commutes.

Gradual clearing should start around 10 a.m.

Patchy fog in the morning followed by sunny skies during the day is forecasted through Monday. The high temperature will remain around 70 degrees, according to the weather service.

Starting Tuesday, the chances of rain increase, and the temperature will decrease.
