Letter: Vote ‘no’ on Initiative 1639

Please vote “no” on Initiative 1639. If you are a law-abiding gun owner, Initiative 1639 will make it nearly impossible to own a firearm — 30 pages of massive restrictions, vague phrases, and higher fees with no oversight.

I-1639 requires annual background checks for life (paid by gun owner), $25 per-gun tax (fee raised any time), lifetime waiver of health records privacy, and criminalizes self-defense for anyone under age of 21.

This measure reduces Second Amendment rights and will not reduce gun violence. It actually protects criminals while attacking gun owners’ Second Amendment rights.

Vote “no” on I-1639.
