Nominees for Week 1 prep football player of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Tuesday night

Nominees for high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 1. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Tuesday with results published in Wednesday’s Columbian.

HUNTER ABRAMS, RIDGEFIELD: Abrams rushed for 193 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns as Ridgefield beat La Center 19-0.

AJ DIXSON, PRAIRIE: Dickson threw for 155 yards two touchdowns and rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons’ 33-0 win over Parkrose.

YAROSLAV DUVALKO, SKYVIEW: The quarterback passed for 392 yards and five touchdowns in a 45-41 loss to Yelm.

TYLER FLANAGAN, WOODLAND: Flanagan rushed for 249 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 116 yards and two touchdown in a 48-40 win over Kalama.

NIKKI SCOTT, HERITAGE: The freshman quarterback passed for 253 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner over Evergreen with 27 seconds left.
