Letter: Flagging a new idea for Washington

I know that most readers don’t care about the Washington state flag. They’d rather read something about President Trump or about the education economics. But as a vexillologist, the Washington state flag deeply disappoints me. All it is is the color green with the state seal on it. And the seal is only a picture of George Washington. Although George Washington is a cool guy, this flag design is boring and bland. Watching paint dry is more exciting. To put it in other words, it’s like electing a blonde potato for president; it gets the job done but nobody likes it and it doesn’t represent the populace well. (Sorry if you like the blonde potato.)

I have an idea for a new flag. The bottom third would be green, for obvious reasons, and the top two-thirds would be blue, representing the constant rain. Then there would be a gray triangle on the left side, and a gray rectangle on the right, to represent the mountains in the west, and the flat, plateau landscape in the east.
