Prep highlights: Ridgefield runner takes second at Ash Creek meet

Ridgefield senior Kyle Radosevich came in second place at the Ash Creek Cross Country Festival on Saturday at Monmouth, Ore.

Radosevich finished the 5,000-meter course in 15 minutes, 42 seconds. The winner was junior Jonas Price of Eisenhower from Yakima in 15:33.40.

There were 202 finishers in the boys varsity race.

Ridgefield place sixth in the team standings with 195 points. Jesuit of Beaverton, Ore., won with 56 points. Mountain View placed 17th with 479.

In the girls race, Mountain View finished 10th with 320 points. Freshman Jasmine Bates was the Thunder’s top placer in 17th (19:48.30).

Stars of the day

• Emersyn Finn, Woodland girls soccer, scored two goals and assisted on one as the Beavers beat Hudson’s Bay 4-1.

• Olivia Fothergill and Waverly Iverson, Mountain View girls soccer. Fothergill scored two goals for the Thunder, and Iverson had the shut out in goal with three saves.

• Meri Dunford, Prairie girls cross country, won the the girls junior race at the Capital Invitational in Olympia in 14:16.
