Nominees for Week 2 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 15.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

AUGUST ALBERS, CEDAR TREE CLASSICAL BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Albers finished third overall at the Fort Steilacoom Invitational in 17:01.

LAYNIE ERICKSON, LA CENTER VOLLEYBALL: Erickson had 38 kills, 32 digs, five blocks and three aces in two wins for the Wildcats.

LUCY IANELLO, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Ianello placed first overall in the Molalla (Ore.) Invitational at the Highland Tree Farm.

GRAHAM MOODY, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS GOLF: Moody won the Jeff Hudson Invitational with a 3-under-par 69 at Tri-Mountain.

BAILEY SEGALL, CAMAS GIRLS SWIMMING: Segall won the 200 individual medley, the 100 butterfly and helped Camas to wins in two relays in a six-team meet at Cascade Fitness.
