Letter: Herrera Beutler fights for forests

The smoke plaguing our region should be a reminder that we need to take better care of our forests. We need Congress to allow more active forest management to provide benefits for American forests and the communities that depend on them. The House of Representatives has taken steps to do just that by passing the Resilient Federal Forests Act, which would allow more thinning of our forests to help reduce the threat of wildfires.

I appreciate that Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, has continued to fight for a more reasonable approach to how we manage our forests.
