PeaceHealth Hospice is searching for volunteers who can work with patients and families to provide hospice services.

Those services include respite care, and volunteering at the Ray Hickey Hospice House. Respite care volunteers provide short-term relief for primary caregivers. The volunteer commitment is four hours per week for a year. The volunteer training is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at PeaceHealth Southwest’s Hope Bereavement Center, 5400 MacArthur Blvd., Vancouver. A light lunch and snacks will be provided.

PeaceHealth’s Hospice program is also searching for volunteers for its No One Dies Alone Program, where volunteers sit with solitary hospice patients during their final hours. The training session for that program is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 5, also at the Hope Bereavement Center. To register or ask questions, contact Colleen Story at 360-696-5120 or cstorey@peacehealth.org.

Hospice volunteers, who will work directly with patients, are asked to attend the patient care training from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8 at Hope Bereavement Services. For information or to RSVP call 360-696-5069 or email ahansen@peacehealth.org.
