Seven Boy Scouts from the Fort Vancouver District successfully passed their Eagle Scout Board of Review during the months of June and August, and advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout.

Nathan Paul Neil, of Boy Scout Troop 637 and a junior at Ridgefield High School, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in cleanup and renewal of Union Ridge Elementary grounds, with 276 volunteer hours. Neil, 16, is the son of David and Alisa Neil.

Josiah Matthew Shoemaker, of Boy Scout Troop 344, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in beautification of Onsdorff Road in Battle Ground. They removed 17 tree stumps and planted 17 trees, with 65 volunteer hours. Shoemaker, 18, is the son of Dennis and Lynda Shoemaker and will be a senior at CAM Academy and Running Start at Clark College.

Joshua James Lyons, of Boy Scout Troop 328 and a graduate of Heritage High School, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in placing storm drain medallions for Clark County Public Works, with 86 volunteer hours. Lyons, 18, is the son of Robert and Tracey Lyons.

Tristan Jean Hoyer, of Boy Scout Troop 320 and a senior at Columbia River High School, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in painting the clubhouse for the Columbia River High School baseball team, with 76 volunteer hours. Hoyer, 17, is the son of Terry and Carla Hoyer.

Frederick Adrian Stephens, of Boy Scout Troop 393 and a Skyview High School graduate, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in removing shrubbery and building a fence to protect the air conditioning unit from vandalism for Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene, with 96 volunteer hours. Stephens, 18, is the son of Molly Wong and Keith Stephens.

Grady William Haligan Dunlap, of Boy Scout Troop 320 and a senior at iTech Preparatory High School, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in producing water pasteurization indicator units, a thermometer that indicates when water has reached pasteurization temperature and is safe to drink, for developing nations, with 157 volunteer hours. Dunlap, 18, is the son of Colby and Rick Black and Bill and Wendy Dunlap.

Thomas Michael Rismoen, of Boy Scout Troop 344 and a graduate of Battle Ground High School, led a group of Scouts and adult volunteers in constructing safety hand rails for cement stairways at Camp Hope in Battle Ground, with 84 volunteer hours. Rismoen,18, is the son of Eddie and Jennifer Rismoen.
