Letter: Support Tanisha Harris in 17th

By Alice Perry Linker, Vancouver
Published: September 29, 2018, 6:00am

Disastrous fires in California, record floods in the Southeast — the evidence of climate change surrounds us. Tanisha Harris is the candidate for the Legislature who fully understands the danger of doing nothing to reduce carbon emissions. She supports the voter initiative that would impose a tax on polluters, and she supports all efforts to research and develop renewable energy.

Contrast Harris with her opponent who, in an interview with The Columbian, denied that climate change is real. Harris has been endorsed by the Sierra Club and the Washington Conservation Voters. Please join me in voting for Tanisha Harris Nov. 6.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
