Letter: Why keep report from public?

According to “Here Democrats go again” (Our Readers’ Views, April 7), demands to see the Mueller report in full are about Democrats’ hatred of Trump. To which I say, “Why aren’t you eager to see the full report?” The House voted 420-0 to release it to the American people. Only McConnell is blocking it. Why?

What we know, as I write this, is what Attorney General William Barr released in his summary. We know Barr is an established “fixer.” He proved that during the Iran-Contra scandal. We know he slammed the Mueller investigation at every turn. Our administration is infested with liars, starting at the top where the lies pour forth like machine gun bullets daily. Trump-appointed, GOP-approved administrators are renowned as shady and liars.

Why doesn’t the GOP want to see the full report? They obsessed over hunting for the truth of Benghazi. They obsessed over Whitewater and Monica Lewinsky (all reports of which were made public). Why not Mueller’s? If it truly exonerated Trump, Fox News would read it to us as if it were from King James. But none of that matters, because a misogynistic serial liar is telling you the truth. Really? Go figure!

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
