BATTLE GROUND — The city of Battle Ground is seeking applicants for its Parks and Community Engagement Advisory Board, which makes recommendations to the city council regarding the development and operations of parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities. Board members will engage with the community to evaluate parks and recreation programs and objectives, to develop interest in activities and to solicit participation. The board will take part in the planning and coordination of communitywide events, as well.

Board members are volunteers appointed by the mayor. Six of the seven board positions are residents, property owners or business owners within the city’s urban growth boundary. Volunteers serve staggered terms of three years each. A seventh position is reserved for a youth representative.

More information about the position and applications can be found on the city’s website, www.cityofbg.org/112/Parks-and-Community-Engagement-Advisory.
