WALLA WALLA — A Washington couple has pleaded not guilty to killing a man by selling him the heroin that caused his overdose death.

The Union-Bulletin reported Wednesday that 35-year-old Amanda J. Geoghegan and 39-year-old Adam R. Sellers, both of Walla Walla, entered the pleas Monday to charges of controlled-substance homicide.

Their trials are scheduled for June 24.

The couple is charged in connection with the February 2018 death of 30-year-old Brandon Brown.

Walla Walla police say Brown was found slumped over in his vehicle in the city 261 miles (about 420 kilometers) east of Seattle around 3 p.m., but he had been dead for hours.

Police say Brown’s mother found texts with drug transaction information that named Geoghegan and Sellers.

Records say surveillance videos from nearby businesses also implicate the couple.
