iQ Credit Union awards scholarships to five Clark County students

Clark County — iQ Credit Union announced five recipients of its scholarship program for the 2019-2020 academic year, honoring students pursuing undergraduate degrees or professional training. Scholarship winners were selected based on academic achievement, community service, a written essay and letters of recommendation, and each scholarship winner received $2,000 from the credit union. In the category for graduating high school students, iQ honored Washougal High School’s Troy Prince-Butterfield, who plans to study biomedical engineering at George Fox University in Newberg, Ore., and Camas High School’s Miles Cottrell, who plans to study mathematics at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In the category for college students working toward a baccalaureate degrees, Clark College psychology student Mikayla Holmes earned the scholarship. There were also two scholarship winners from the committee’s choice category: Clark College students Taron Linge, who is studying electrical engineering, and Veronica Cortez, who is studying nursing. Scholarship applications for the 2020-2021 academic year will be available in January 2020.
