The city of Vancouver is seeking applicants to fill an upcoming vacancy on its Planning Commission, a volunteer resident advisory body that makes recommendations to the city council on land-use issues.
The commission is seeking applicants with “interest and experience in community planning, urban design or housing development, and who are active in business, neighborhood or community affairs,” according to a press release from the city. To be considered, applicants must also live within Vancouver city limits or the unincorporated Urban Growth Area.
Currently, the seat is held by a person whose term is expiring. That person may reapply for the position.
The Planning Commission meets at 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at City Hall, 415 W. Sixth St., in addition to other duties such as reading reports and attending city council meetings. Members commit about 15 hours per month to their role.
