Enspire Arts to hold fundraising gala Oct. 5

Published:

Enspire Arts will hold its fundraising gala from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at the Brickstone Ballroom, 105 W. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver. There will be music, a swing dance instructor and introductions to the 2019 Arts Ambassadors.

The Arts Ambassador Scholarship Program provides $500 scholarships to support young artists entering grades 6-12 in the artistic field of their choice. The money can be used for private instruction, workshops or summer study.

Some of the 2018 ambassadors used the money to create a Peer-to-Peer String Instruction Program to support a school orchestra, a series of comic drawings highlighting the mental dialogue associated with certain mental conditions, and visited elementary school classrooms to share what it’s like to learn a new instrument and encourage kids not to be afraid of a challenge.

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at www.swingandsweets.bpt.me.
