PeaceHealth awards scholarships

NORTH GARRISON HEIGHTS — Volunteers and caregivers of PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center were on the receiving end of $33,000 in scholarships awarded by the hospital’s foundation. Seventeen students who are studying to become health care professionals received scholarships for the 2019-2020 school year. The PeaceHealth Southwest Foundation’s Health Career Scholarship program is funded through donations from volunteers and caregivers, the community, the Jack and Nancy Barry Endowment, and the Sarina Slaid memorial scholarship. Award winners included students pursuing degrees in pre-med, nursing, pharmacy, physician’s assistant, and public health.
