Girls basketball: Hockinson 64, La Center 27

Gracie Brammer scored a game-high 21 points, Kylie Ritter added 15 points, nine rebounds and six steals and the Hawks opened the season with a non-league road win.

Addie Chappelle had 10 points, and Lillie Mueller had 10 rebounds to go with eight points and seven assists for Hockinson, which outscored La Center 12-2 in the second quarter for a 26-10 lead. The Hawks also had just 12 turnovers in the game.

Alyse Webberley scored seven points to lead La Center (0-1).
