Letter: Don’t allow dangerous precedent

Question for staunch Trump supporters: Imagine 10 years in the future. A Democrat is president, and he’s a real jerk who lies about everything. He issues an executive order for the government to pay for all abortions on demand; and an order to confiscate guns; and he unilaterally expands the Supreme Court to 15 members to pack it with liberal judges. The House is controlled by Republicans, who investigate impeachment, but the president and the Democrats refuse to cooperate in the investigation, and it won’t matter anyway because the Senate is controlled by Democrats, whose members announce they will not vote for impeachment. And the Democrats tell you, “Hey, Trump and the Republicans set the precedent in 2019.”

How are you going to feel then?
