CPU has no plans for rate increase

Clark Public Utilities approved its budget for 2020, and it does not plan to increase water and electricity rates, according to a news release from the agency.

The budget for 2020, which is $366.27 million, is about $6 million less than 2019.

The largest cost for the utility company is power, for which CPU budgeted $230 million. Operating and maintenance accounts for $58 million, and the water system budget accounted for $20.2 million, according to the news release.
