WOODLAND — The community donated 67 new winter coats and jackets for students of all ages during Woodland Public Schools’ Family Community Resource Center’s Drive for Coats on Nov. 16. The drive was held in partnership with Clark County Fire & Rescue. Two weeks following the drive’s Saturday kickoff, community members donated 65 additional coats at boxes at Burgerville and Walmart, for a total of 132. Those who donated were then given a ride on CCF&R’s firetruck. “Woodland community members once again went above and beyond to help take care of those in need,” Gabby Meador, resource center program specialist, said in a news release. “We also want to give a huge thanks to our firefighters who helped make this coat drive a success.” Those who missed donating during the coat drive can volunteer and give to the Family Community Resource Center year-round. For more information, visit www.woodlandschools.org/family-community-resource-center, contact Meador at meadorg@woodlandschools.org or call 360-841-2718.
